Andrew Hay, Attorney at Law

Andrew Hay, Attorney at Law

I have been an advocate for people and businesses throughout the South Puget Sound since 1989.

My firm works exclusively for families and small businesses with unexpected legal troubles.  We don't work for big corporations or governments.

We have confidence that is built on long and frequent experience in the courtroom.  We are often faced with adversaries with vast resources.  My first civil trial was a victory against an auto dealership with one of the biggest firms in town on their side.  I was a lawyer in my first year of practice, trying my first civil case, representing a young man just out of the Army.

For families in conflict, my firm works as a team to handle simple divorces or much more complex cases.  In one family law case, we helped a young woman recover her child who was kidnapped and taken to Europe.  That case went to the Washington Supreme Court and she won custody of her child and got him back.

That type of case is obviously not what we see every day.  But if that is what it takes to win your case, we will do what it takes.  We use our experience to guide you through the court system and help you get the outcome you deserve.

In real estate, probate and personal injury law we have trial experience in a wide range of cases for families or investors caught up in problems that are not of their own making.  We also help those same clients avoid trouble in buying or selling property and businesses.  Whether the adversary is an insurance company, a troublesome neighbor or a Fortune 500 company, we have experience handling them in court and out of court.

In 2022, I began serving as a Pro Tempore Court Commissioner on the bench of the Pierce County Superior Court hearing cases concerning family law and domestic violence.
