Heather Swann received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from Suffolk University In 2002 where she graduated magna cum laude. She later went on to complete her juris doctorate at Western New England College School of Law in 2006.

During law school, Ms. Swann spent her summers volunteering as a legal intern at the State’s Attorneys’ Offices in New London and Norwich, Connecticut. While attending her last year of law school, Ms. Swann represented the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a student Assistant District Attorney in the Massachusetts District Court.

While working at the District Attorneys’ Office, Ms. Swann gained valuable experience in negotiations, advocacy, and the various aspects of litigation.

After graduating from law school, Ms. Swann was admitted to the Connecticut State Bar in October of 2006.  In August of 2006, Ms. Swann relocated to Washington State and was admitted to the Washington State Bar in May of 2007.  She Is currently a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the Tacoma Pierce County Bar Association.

In November of 2007, Ms. Swann joined the Hay Law Firm, P.S. as a new associate and became a partner in January 2011. She utilizes her litigation and negotiation skills in the civil arena. Ms. Swann is practicing in the areas of family law, consumer protection, real estate and trusts and estates.

In 2022, Heather began serving as a Pro Tempore Court Commissioner on the bench of the Pierce County Superior Court hearing cases concerning family law and domestic violence. 

Out of the office, Ms. Swann enjoys playing tennis, working on her farm, horseback riding and spending time with her two young daughters.
